How are Royal Star Magnolia root systems are they invasive. Can I plant 5-6 from house and driveway?

  1. Magnolias are not really known for root to house damage unless you plant the really big Grandiflora ones.  

    This is still a large stella variety I would go ahead making sure I gave it regular deep watering to ensure deep rooting.   Light watering causes surface rooting and the problems.  But if you are really worried choose a smaller variety their are hundreds - perhaps 'Rikki'.
