  1. The teachers and students of Advanced English classes realise that English is spealt with a capital A. Use your spellchecker.


  2. In Australia (I can't speak for anywhere else) the Advanced English students have a different level course than the Standard English class. Advanced has to study 'Imaginative Journeys' while Standard has to study 'Physical Journeys'. With that Advanced must study Shakespeare while Standard may choose to if they wish. An Advanced student must be able to analyse and evaluate a text, while a Standard student is expected to only analyse a text. Both levels will study different texts.
