I currently live in the US and would like to compare if Canada is as racist as the US. As well as compare the education system.

  1. Racism is not a problem in most places in BC. I live on Vancouver Island and have never heard of any problems in regards to race. I think people in British Columbia are very easy going, and we accept people for who they are.

I would really not be concerned about it at all.

  2. Vancouver is one of the most multicultural cities in the entire world.

Choosing to move to Canada is a very good option, and Vancouver is a great place to start.

The United States does have a problem with racism - its good that you recognized this, and want to take a stand.

Enjoy Canada, if you do end up coming here!

  3. No you should be fine

The main issue with racism here is asain people becasue people get annoyed with their driving :P

    great schools, public and private.

  4. The only real 'racial' issue in greater Vancouver is a gang war.  Asian gang members and Indian (east) gang members are knocking each other off on a fairly regular basis.  Primarily it's a war over who will control the drug trade.  If we're lucky they'll eventually exterminate each other and the rest of us, (all races, colours) will be able to walk around downtown Vancouver at night without worrying about catching a stray bullet.   The average Vancouverite is not a racist and while communities tend to be inhabited along racial lines (Asians in Richmond, east Indians in Surrey etc) people generally get along quite well.

  5. Racism is basically not a problem, there are lots of every race in Vancouver area.

Your problem will probably be the cost of Housing, Check it out before you move.

  6. Well I am sure there are racist people where ever you go.

What I can say for me, my frineds, my family, and the school I went to in Langley, I didn't come across racism much, we were friends with a few Asian girls and guys, and I never heard anyone making fun, or being mean to them.

  7. Vancouver  has  few racial isuses  . We have people of all races here   Some problems with  asian youth gangs.  Schools are good.
