    This is a most fascinating thing isn't it?, Mitosis (cell division) is just a real miracle in my opinion, it just blows my mind how cells just do this!!

    Here's a link that shows and explains mitosis, read down the page and you will find the sexual reproduction part, have a look on google, there are even some web sites that have film of a cell dividing.

  2. Gametogenesis(gamete formation) is an essential phenomenon in sexual reproduction. Therefore, before reproduction, the plants & animals undergo gametogenesis in the cells of their respective gonads like Testis/Ovaries to produce the gametes like Spermetazoa/Ova.

    The gametogenesis in turn is brought out  by cell divisions including Mitosis & Meiosis. Meiosis, especially result in the formation of gametes carrying hereditary material(Genes/DNA) from one generation to the other.
