There are farms dedicated to the growth of chickens.  Some claim to be free range - meaning they are not kept in cages and some keep them in cages while they grow to the size determined by the fda for consumption.  Healthy chickens lay anywhere from 1 to 2 eggs per day.  Again there are farms dedicated for egg distribution.  Hope this helps...=0)

    The growth depends on how the chicken is being raised.  Some are allowed to get to their determined size naturally and some receive hormones to accelerate growth.

  3. I beleive that an average female chicken lays one egg a day, so we do get lots of chickens!!

  4. we mass produce them > we breed lots so we can eat lots.
