How are cruise ships made? Do they build them in or out of the water?

If the ship is made on land, how do they get them into the ocean?

    here's a pic when they were finished building the the queen elizabeth 2, and they were sliding her into the water.

Out of the water.  They can be built in a dry dock.  Once the ship is complete, then the dock can be flooded and the caisson removed and the ship moved into the main body of water where the shipyard is located.  They can also be built on dry land and then the ship is launched down a ramp and into the water.

    Maybe try a search on shipyards and try and find a video of a ship being launched.
