  1. Diamond is formed when carbon is subjected to extreme heat and pressure. It is actually got from a rock called kimberlite.

  2. It takes millions of years of heat and pressure on carbon deposits, like coal, deep within the earth. The carbon becomes extremely dense and the carbon atoms form a crystalline structure rendering the diamond clear. A diamond is the hardest thing known. All but a few diamonds have at least one flaw in the form of tiny pieces of carbon that didn't make it to the crystalline state.

  3. God

  4. I think its coal that is exposed to extreme pressure.  The extreme pressure helps align the atoms of the coal into a super strong pattern (forgot the patterns name)

    Jughead has the answer.

  5. Diamonds require specific conditions to be created in nature, namely carbon-bearing materials must be exposed to enormous high pressure between 45 and 60 kilobars and high temperature of 1652–2372 °F (900–1300 °C). Anyway, follow the link below for more info. Hope this helps you.

  6. First of all diamonds are absolutely NOT formed from coal, it is far too impure ever to produce diamond and it never occurs in areas that will be subject to the required heat/pressure required for diamond production. Diamonds are created from elemental carbon atoms which are held in solution as part of the makeup of the earth's magma. Under the right combination of temperature and pressure and if sufficient carbon atoms are present the atoms come together and form molecules of the high temperature polymorph of carbon which is diamond. Another total misconception is that diamonds take millions of years to form - the rock they are found in is millions of years old but the diamonds themselves formed in a matter of hours, or at the most days exactly as lab. produced stones do.

  7. what i heard is that a piece of coal or something is under ground and that the pressure cuases it to become a diamond
