  1. It depends on if you are using MLA or APA. First find out if your school is using MLA or APA, then come back to add details to this question.   Block quote are different too.  


  2. Generally, in quotes with an attribute.  For example: Charlotte Bronte once said, "Out of obscurity I came - to obscurity I can easily return." If you are writting a term paper and want to use a direct quote fromt he author you wold put the line in quites and then attach a footnote or a page reference (depending on the style your teacher wants)
