Generally, in quotes with an attribute.  For example: Charlotte Bronte once said, "Out of obscurity I came - to obscurity I can easily return." If you are writting a term paper and want to use a direct quote fromt he author you wold put the line in quites and then attach a footnote or a page reference (depending on the style your teacher wants)
