  1. Hi!

For the first part of question, answer is as follows:

Each human or person has its characteristic DNA. Through the DNA of close relatives may match, but a part of DNA, I have forgotten the name, is never as same as in any relative. It is used for this process.

Forensic scientists are those who study articles, sculptures, skeletons, and such many ancient things and aspects which are very useful today for studies.

For thorough information, go to the sites I have mentioned below.

  2. Everyone fingerprint's are different, even Identical twins so that's obviously a big help, also because Latent Finger Prints are caused by the grease on you're finger being left, you can extract information from this grease and Protease.

DNA is also unique so if you find someones DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) you can start to eliminate suspects and finally get to the Criminal.

Post Mortem's not only find the cause of death (COD) they can also find the time of death (TOD) and sign's of struggles and can even give example's of what level of understanding would be required to participate in such crime.

Forensic Scientist's Collect and Analise Evidence of crime. It's a common misconception that we go into court and point finger's, we don't. We are there to be a Specialist Witness and we put forth our Evidence, we can be asked question's relating to the Science behind our finding's but we need to keep our mind open to all possibilities and never try and convict someone. That's what court's are there for. But Forensic Science is a broad name, under that there's member's of a SOCO (Scene Of Crime Officer) team,Blood Splatter Analyst's, Botanist's, Pathologists, Psychologist's, Criminologist's, Anthropologist's,Chemist's,Lab Technician's and that's just to name a few.

If you want to ask anything specific I'd be happy for you to PM or E-Mail me and I'll be sure to get back to you.

  3. in brief, fingerprints and dna help to identify perpetrators of crimes, and a post mortem helps determine the cause of death. forensic scientists are knowledgeable about these, and other, techniques, and the collation of these bits of evidence helps solve crimes.

wikipedia's article, below,  goes into much greater detail.

    good luck on your report!
