I definitely do less leisure driving, but that's about it. I have to get where I'm going. That's just that...

  1. Over a year ago, I cut back on non-essential driving, doubling up trips and trying to be more efficient. Recently, I've started sharing a ride w/ DH one or two days a week. That has meant cutting back on work hours (for both of us) those days that we ride together.

In other areas of my life, I don't eat out as much. I've cut back the thermostat, setting it lower in the winter and higher in the summer. I've also started buying more local food. Every little bit helps.

  2. that's the only thing i have cut down on is leisure driving,it really doesn't affect the business i run that much ,but it is getting in to a lot of my customers pockets real bad,im feeling it either way though, good luck.

  3. Higher fuel prices affect everyone. Just look around at what everything costs now compared to a year ago. I am on a fixed income and it really takes a big chunck out of me.

  4. It kinda sucks, considering I drive about 500 miles a week.  I have a car that gets 30MPG though, so it's not really making things too difficult... yet.

  5. Instead of just driving somewhere to get something and find out they don't have it,I call first. The golf courses that are 45 minutes away are not going to get much play this year. That's o.k. though,we have some killer courses here in Canton,Ohio.

  6. I use public transportation again. Really - I found that if I use the bus when ever I can and walk to the grocer I can keep my gas bill down. I just hope I can keep it up.

  7. Yes, I look at a trip and ask "How much will this cost me"?  Is this trip really necessary at this time?  Can it wait until I am commuting to and from work?  What other errands can I run at the same time?  While I have the means to buy gas at the current levels, I am choosing not to give up my hard earned money without a fight.  I have made a lot of cut backs on excess purchasing since the first of the year.  My bills are dramatically lower.  My savings are up.  I have brought my "wants" much closer to my "needs".
