  1. there are good ones and bad ones, just like anywhere else.

    five years (14 -18 ).

they usually open at 8.00 - 8.30 am. closing time depends on which kind of school you go to

  2. generally public schools are better than private ones (u pass because you pay but don't really get an education).

high school last five years (and you enter after having passed other 8 years of primary school) from when u are 13-14 til 18-19 (there is no college and u can go directly to university after school).

there are different kinds of high school that focus on maths and science, humanities, art, languages, and so on. so once you choose your kind of school, there is nothing more to choose, you spend all the time in the same classroom and everybody studies the same subjects. you spend 5 years with your class, generally around 25 people, but you can ask to change it if you dont like the teachers or the others.

it depends on the school, but usually u attend monday to saturday from 8-8.30 til 1 pm but sometimes you might have to stay more. generally you can leave earlier on saturdays.

some schools have sports programs and there are some championships for students, but it depends on the school, if it has the funding for it. in my school we used to have basket, volley and football championships between classes and other schools in town, and there are atheltics championships at a national level.

    but generally no pools.

    couldnt think of anything else...

sorry if some psycho made an account just to post something against me in your question... people are crazy! :-P

  4. very different from the USA.

Most of students go to public schools. only the ones who are not able to pass the public schools go to the privates(you pay and they give you a diploma).

You go to high school for 5 yrs. at the end of the 5th yr there is a huge final test composed of 3 days of written tests and 1 day of oral test.

you can choose between LICEO,which will give you a general education, or an high school that will specialize (teaching, secretary, accounting schools and so on).

Extra curriculum or sports are not part of the high school life. so no school teams or prom.

we don't have a mensa, you go home in the early afternoon and eat. most of school start at 8-8 30 and end in the early afternoon.

we don't change class room. you usually spend your 5 yrs with other 25-30 students in one class room. the teachers are the ones who go all around the school
