Question:

How are hunting accidents legally dealt with?

If someone is shot in the city, even if it's an accident, it's prosecuted as a crime. I think they call it involuntary manslaughter. But what about say in the forest, if a man shoots another person accidentally? This is a recreation that involves firearms and mistakes can genuinely be made without reckless endangerment or gross negligence etc. It's just some people going hunting, see movement and fire, like they're supposed to. So is this prosecuted at all or do the hunters just go free or what?

  1. The law is the same for city or country.  People shoot themselves or get shot by accident all the time without anyone getting charged with a crime.  The only time an unintentional shooting rises to the level of criminality is when it results from "willful" conduct (such as shooting at or around someone but intending to miss him in order to scare him) or from "gross negligence" such as shooting into a building without attempting to determine if it is occupied.
