How are hybrid surfboards?

I'm 5 foot 10 and I was wondering if I should get a hybrid surfboard but I don't know how good they were

I would go with a big fish instead of a hybrid.  A big fish does the same thing for those wanting to drop down from a longboard but does it better.  The shape and design makes the fish easier to paddle and catch waves while being more maneuverable.  If the reason you're looking at getting a hybrid is to drop down from a longboard, then go with a fish instead.  Take a look at 9:Fish Surfboards.  They have fishes from 4'11" to 12' and everything in between.  The 6'10" Yellowtail is a great transition board.

they're great for beginners who aren't ready for a shortboard but don't want to learn on a longboard.

surfboards? since when did we have these??? whatever happen to moving in the water on your own..i think i missed something..

They're very good, but I found that Solar Powered surfboards work the best,  I hate the battery operated ones, don't you.
