Why do People Claim Undocumented Citizens are Enjoying Government Benefits While Not Paying Taxes?

Several people have e-mailed asking us if it was true that "illegals were receiving these benefits." They're not.

If you read through the e-mail carefully, you’ll find that it never uses the term "illegal immigrant." Rather, the anonymous author makes careful mention of people who "are not U.S. citizens." That is because it addresses programs available to LEGAL immigrants who entered the country by legal means or have legal permanent resident status. But none of the programs are available to illegal immigrants.

Because we taxpayers let them do it. The government has admitted that even they do not know how many are here (UK) but admits that there are "significant" numbers of them. Let's pretend I am an illegal immigrant. My English may be quite poor, I must find somewhere to stay and I must find work. In order to have somewhere to stay I must have a reasonable amount of money or some "contact" who will put me up. In order to find a job I must have a NI number or else I am working "illegally" ie not paying income tax NI etc. Given that I have no NI number I cannot access health/welfare benefits, I cannot access social housing etc. How do I survive?

F****d If I know, but they do it in their thousands. Yet if you, a legal citizen, breaks one petty law, commits one minor indiscretion, the "state" can, and will,  track you down in 5 mins! h***s Bells, you cannot breathe in this country without giving everything but your inside leg measurement to some twit before you can get anywhere, even your bank, when you have keyed in every number known to man, stll asks you for your mothers maiden name pmsl. Yet these people can come here, to a different country/culture and prosper. It is we who are being told such things are in our best interest, the interests of national security, what a load of s***e. It is in the governments/capitalists interest to have illegal immigrants, cheap workers = higher profits, who cares about the rest of us? It is the average taxpayer who ultimately foots the bill.
