How are industrial societies similar to and different from agricultural societies??

  1. This is an enormous question which will require substantial amount of time in a library to answer.  I would recommend starting with the classics, such as the work of V. Gordon Childe.  A short answer (i.e. 5-10 pages) would be close to impossible.


  2. Many industrial society and agricultural society are similar in that now they have a greater population and have surpluses. It also allows complexity in the society. But they are different in that industrial society must be a state society and will yield greater surpluses.

    Hunter-gatherers are more "simplistic" and have much smaller population but better health then agricultural society. Tribes and Chiefdom has either informal and formal leadership just like industrial society.
