call your cable company. most newer boxes are digital all ready and it wont hurt anything to make the change.

When the time comes I'm sure they'll be very easy to find.  At stereo stores like Circuit City, places like Radio Shack, etc.

And if you have cable or satellite TV, you don't need one.  Only if you get signals over the air.
