  1. They would probably give them some sort of placement test...

And try to give this girl a break. You're scolding her for be CONCERNED about her family? Real nice.

There isn't anything wrong with being concerned about your cousins education. Especially if the children have given someone reason to think they haven't been being educated.

    Chill pill, people....

  2. I think it depends on the state they live in.  In California, a student who is 14 years and 9 months old has to be allowed to go into the 9th grade, regardless of test scores.

I home schooled my son, and he is doing well.  Some people do better at home, some at school.  It depends on the motivation, and the school they are in.  By the way, it may be possible for your cousins to continue homeschooling, and join the school football team for P.E. credits.  They can google "home school support groups".  Even if they don't live in California, I am including a link to a huge organization that has a wealth of information for home schoolers.

  3. It will probably be based on their age, and then their district will probably host a test for the home schooled students.

  4. You sound like you need to mind your own business.  By your own admission you "don't know if they were actually being taught in home school".  How a parent chooses to educate their own child is not any of your business.  I would be willing to bet that if the children are tested they will far outscore their public school peers.  Come to think of it, you sound like another anti home school troll.

  5. According to statistics, your cousins will be better off being taught at home by their high school drop out mom than they will at public school.

At any rate, if they go back to public school they will likely be tested for placement.

  6. I agress with Miss Mara, mind your own d**n business!  Just to let you know, I grauduated from high school in 1992, but for your fyi, you dont need a dipolma to homeschool your children.

I also went on to massage therapy school too, & I still homeschool my son.

The way I see it the public schools are failing our children, so its up to us parents, NOT YOU children to teach our children. Since your still in school, & need to put your nose back on your face, & do your own school work. Stick to what you know is best for you, & let the parents take care of your cousins. Thats not your problem!

By the way if they do go back to public school the school will test them. thats there job, NOT yours!

Plus, the way it  sounds either your jelious your not homeschooled, or just way too noisy!

Either way, put your nose back on your own face! How would your cousins parents feel if they knew you stuck your nose where it dosnt belong???

Not to mention, turn the tables, & say it was you homeschooling, & someone stuck their nose in YOUR business, how would you like it???

I remember when I started homeschooling my son, the noisy neighbors turned me in to the cops saying I was keeping my son out of school. When the police found out he was homeschooled, & I found out the lady who turned me in. I told her to mind her own d**n business, before I put her nose back on her face for her!!  She still tries to make trouble for us, but she knows the school board & police wont do anything about it, becuase they both know were AWARE of our rights to homeschool!

  7. They will be tested

    Best of Luck!
