  1. Your results are good, considering the average grade obtained by students are C's and D's, so well done on your B!

And good on you for dropping a subject you hate. There is nothing worse than doing something you don't like, but hey, you still have a qualification in it.

In order to maintain your grades and keep them as they are currently (BCD), you will need to work extra hard when you begin the A2 course. A2 is the same jump from GCSE > AS, but a little bit harder. Many students drop a grade in the second year, but several increse their grades through a lot of hard work, maybe not having a social life for a few weeks (!) and re sitting previous modules from the first year, which does improve the final A Level grade.

Also now as you are going into your second year, you are expected to know what career path it is you want to go into, and your personal tutor will get your tutor group to start applying for Universities pretty much as soon as you get back into the flow of college. It may be a good idea to start researching what Universities that are of interest to you and that offer a course suited to your needs. Also, check out the entry requirements for the course, as it shows you the grades you need to aim for in order to get in (if on results day you don't get the grades you can go through clearing, but there's no need to worry about that just yet). It may be worth checking out the UCAS website, which is what you will be using to apply to Universities. Most people will think it is a rush getting ready to apply for Uni already, but you have to be early! So that's a little taster of what to expect when you go back to college.

Congratulations on your results and enjoy the rest of your "summer" holidays :)

  2. I got

    History - B

    Media - A

    ICT- A

Y the **** did you decide to pick four !?!?

  3. They are ok ish, but it really depends on you. What were your GCSE results like? I would expect someone with a spread of grades like that to have got 5 or 6 grade c or b at GCSE. If you got lots of As at GCSE then I would say your AS results are not very good.

Maybe you should resit some modules in Jan. Do you know what you want to dio after A Level. If you are looking at uni you need to look at what grades they expect at A Level.

  4. ok
