Question:

How are my photos and how can I improve?

This is my mini attempt at using my Macro setting on my camera photographing everyday items. The lighting is really weird (like all orange) in most of them. I am aware of that. It's just one of my first attempts, so what do you think and how can I improve?

  1. work on the lighting and get photoshop...your angles look nice

  2. Well the images are ok, but like others have said, aren't very interesting. I do think you are on the right track though. I noticed that your depth of field isn't as shallow as it could be and your composition are rather boring. I would suggest you take your camera outside and take images of the things around you. Maybe focus on nature's textures, colors and the rule of thirds. I definitely see potential! Good luck!

  3. they dont suck.

but what is this thing with people photographing in this mannor?  i keep seeing it over and over.

if you want to do it, then think out of the box because right now the the box is surrounding you.

  4. there not good. the things you take pictures of are not interesting. i am not trying to be mean or put you down i am just being honest. you should take pix of things like sunsets mountains. rain. snow. clouds. and in order to do so and walk away with a good picture you have to have an eye for photography. that means know when something looks good before you take the picture and that be something you can sell. when you take pictures look at them and ask yourself would someone buy this and hang it on there wall.

  5. Your angles are good but my suggestions are work on your subjects they need to be very vast to build up a good portfolio, such as nature, head shots and so on... my only suggestions to you is to work on your focus your images have blur to the main subjects. Now you could use a depth of field to bring out the image and blur the background that would help your images of household objects, and portraits. Also you have a few minor lighting issues, that can be solved by using no flash and working with your ISO speeds aperture and shutter speeds.

  6. The light is due to the white balance set on the camera (I think).

Here is an idea, if you keep a blog how would you illustrate each entry?  Think of this as if you were a news paper or magazine editor trying to get pictures to illustrate the article in question

Then you might be able to ask what you want to shoot or what they picture should look like

    good luck!

  7. Well I like notepad2...

But you need to get better subjects, more creative.

Go take a walk, and if you see anything interesting, take a picture.

You need to learn law of thirds... look it up on google.

But other than that your pictures aren't horrible.

  8. I just think you need to move out of photographing simple or ordinary thing.. try pics with nature ,sunrises and insects or historical buildings.. I saw some really excellant ones that were clouds that looked like shapes of thing we see on earth.. or when rain makes a window fog up and causes it to look like a picture.btw, I love your avatar and it's name.. very catchy.

  9. take a black and white film photography class! i can't stress that enough. it's extremely important in teaching you the basics of photography in general, even if you plan on only using digital. your photographs are pretty good overall, but i guarantee you will improve.
