  1. greatly. 'cos its the hopelessness, emptiness, lonliness, uncertainty, despair that will shape the outlook.  

    many make it as they already hv nothing, what else can they lose?!  

    but most refugess are resilient.  once resettled with a proper job etc - they excel - they make the best in their lives. maybe not for the 2nd generation.
