  1. of course.. people are affected by them. three things that you mentions above can be describe by only one single word.. disaster..

hurricanes is a disaster that often takes lots of destruction.. as an example Hurricane Katrina made landfall August 29, 2005 becoming the costliest ($75 billion) and one of the deadliest (nearly 2,000 human lives lost) hurricanes in U.S. history. With the nation still reeling from Katrina, Hurricane Rita hit on September 24, 2005, causing $10 billion in damage but taking a far less direct toll on human lives.

so is tornadoes.. notice that in area that tornadoes often occur always has a basement in every house. while most tornadoes are weak and do minimal damage, large, powerful tornadoes can be devastating to property and human life. Unlike hurricanes, tornadoes are very difficult to predict; meteorologists are usually able to give a warning only minutes before a tornado strikes, leaving little time for people to evacuate or get to a safe place.

and drought.. well drought often brought damage more than flood. Most scientist even think that drought are an onset that more harmful than flood because of it's period that is usually longer. I live in Indonesia and we often have some problems because of drought. drought makes our rice productivity decrease.. so it can caused lots of people suffer from hunger.
