How are people making money from global warming?

I asked a question about global worming and some answers I didnt understand, so is it true? Are humans making money from global worming? If yes how?

people are making money doing things that cause global climate change, which is short sighted greed at the best.  For example, government officials taking bribes from the saudis and their ilk to keep buying oil and fight their wars for them.  Between the carlyle group and haliburton the saudies have turned the us military into one of the biggest, and for the chump change they've spent on bribes legal or otherwise, the cheapest mercenary army ever.  Not only have we taken out sadaam for them, but the iraqi oil is off the market for any forseeable future.  We are keeping millions of people in poverty perpetuating the oil economy, for the monetary gain of a few.  On the other hand, with, say, an alcohol based system, we could tell the arab terrorists to go eat sand, bomb them if they set foot out of the desert, and enrich our farmers if we use ethanol, and foresters or coal miners or just about anything if we use methanol.  Of course, a few examples were given about the solar power or wind power industries that could employ many peopl;e too.  there is hope, as long as we manage to rid ourselves of shortsighed corrupt politicians somehow.

Government "scientists" are making huge amounts of money scaring everyone with their "Sky is Falling" fear mongering.  Global warming science has become a huge source of gain for lots of people.  They obtain large grants and high-paying jobs by it.  It's a time-honored method:  you manufacture a crisis, and then, magically, you offer the solution.  "If only you pay me large sums of money, we may just be able to turn this thing around!"

Whenever someone comes out saying the global warming science is not established, these people say that person must be in the back pocket of "Big Oil."  Question is, how many of those prominent global warming zealots are in the back pocket of "Big Government"?

well one of the best known people is Al Gore who makes big money off of the global warming hoax. all of the scientist who get paid through th government grants that the foundations or schools get for doing the studies. all the carbon offset companies make money fooling gullible people into thinking their making a difference, and the list goes on.

The oil companies are making money from our use of fossil fuel. Most of our industry is also, not really MAKING money, but HOLDING onto the money they currently make out of fear to change. For example, they use ingredients for their product that must be transported thousands of miles rather than using ingredients from local American farmers or manufacturers. They do this because they are afraid that change will ruin their companies. Our job is to make sure that we drive cars, not tanks (like those ugly Hummers), make sure we save energy (and money) in our homes, and choose products when we shop that are made in America. This will help revitalize our economy as well! Get your family to food shop at whole foods markets, they generally get their food from local farmers and their stuff is organic.

Rather than worry about who is making money from global warming, find out which companies are moving with the times and modernizing, by looking up Green Companies on google, and trying to support them when you need to buy something. Google "carbon footprint" to calculate how YOU are contributing to global warming, and then the website will offer you tips on how to cut down your carbon output!

Basically, our society cannot remain the way it is. Things are changing. The fossil fuel companies are in trouble, and the companies who refuse to change with the times are going the way of the dinosaurs. We must hope that things change before too much damage is done, and we CAN make sure that our actions are responsible!

Hmmmmm I guess I'll have to go a little in details.

Scenario:

My name is Bob, I'm 30 years old and a climatologist. I don't agree with global warming is caused by man but if I actually step up for myself I would be fired or get a death threat. I also need to make a living for myself, my wife and 5 kids. If I lie and say I agree that global warming is caused by man, I would be paid loads of money. Will I be stupid and get myself fired or be smart and lie for money?

Scenario over. Does that explain it?

Yes, people are making lots of money.

The IPCC exists solely if the AGW theory is perpetuated. They have no other purpose but to continue the AGW theory, even if it is not true.

Climate scientist and those associated with it are receiving huge grants to do work. 5 billion dollars per year is being spent on studies associated with global warming. Unfortunately, none of these experiments has suggested man made causes.

Al Gore has reaped huge profits from the lie. His movie alone brought him millions. Also, he owns a company which makes money on the lie. When Al Gore pays for his carbon offsets, its to his own company. So he is really just shifting his money to himself.

Big companies are reaping huge profits also. Notice all the "green" products cost much more than other stuff. The big corps are making huge money on these products. Look at the high efficiency light bulb. It costs twice as much as the incandescent bulb. Or the Toyota Prius. Costs much more than the normal gas car (the profit margin is much better than gas cars).

Energy companies will also  reap huge gains as they charge more and more for "green" energy. Also companies which produce solar panels and windmills will make huge gains.

Governments will rake in HUGE dollars by taxing the population. Carbon taxes, gas taxes, etc will add windfall profits to our already bloated governments. These taxes will infiltrate everything we pay for (water bills, electric bills, carbon taxes, "big car" taxes, etc. Governments will become very creative in how they extract money from us.

Large scale agribusiness is making billions on government subsidies. They are growing more corn, etc to be used in biofuels. Unfortunately, this ill advised plan is causing world wide food prices to spike drastically. Using our staple foods for energy is a horrible idea. What happens when there is a large scale drought in the growing areas. Do we not drive, or not eat?

But let's look at the really important facts. Who pays for all of these people confiscated (by government and their policies)? Of course, the tax payer will be asked to contribute vast amounts of their personal wealth to pay for the lie. Already, governments around the world are salivating at the prospects of separating you from your money. The rain forests will also suffer tremendous loss. The poor in these nations will realize they can earn more by slashing the forests and planting food for biofuels. These means the rain forests will disappear ever more rapidly (this will reduce the huge carbon sink provided by the rain forests making the CO2 issue worse).

The general population will also pay much more for food. This is happening now in poorer countries, where riots have broken out over food prices. These will only get worse as governments mandate biofuels. Companies grow what makes the easiest profit, and right now that is for biofuels at the expense of our food sources.

Energy prices will also sharply rise (notice gas prices). Oil/coal/nuclear are the cheapest forms of energy. That is why they are currently the most utilized. But with mandates of biofuels and renewable sources (very expensive forms of energy), energy costs will continue to sharply increase. (thanks government mandates).

The unfortunate truth to all of this is the poor are the most drastically effected. Wealthy and middle class people can absorb the increases more easily. The poor (who are the ones rioting) can not absorb the higher costs for energy or food. Thus they will be forced to eat less, and barely survive. Once this gets to bad, then the government will kick in with higher taxes on the wealthy (the producers of the world) and middle class. They will make the excuse that poor need more and more help (only because of the original government mandates). Of course with government, for every $1 you give them, only about 20% makes it to the people who need it. The rest is absorbed by government beauracracy. Expect taxes to raise sharply if we allow them to implement more "green" solutions.

The bottom line, conservation is always a good thing. But having government mandates on such things as fuel and green products will always have a net negative impact. The poor in this country and others are already beginning to feel the pich from the AGW lie. If you think going green is a great idea, then maybe you should stop to think about the consequences. Also, you should do some independent research and read some of the "denier" articles (as you can get all the pro AGW reports from TV). I think you will change your mind very quickly.

Remember, when government tries to regulate anything, it will have the opposite intended consequences.

Hmm, I can think of ways of making money from the threat of global warming. Such as the wind power industry,which is making huge amounts of money building electricity generating wind towers (that generate no greenhouse gases)

The 'cult' of denial are making lots of money spreading false information in an attempt to confuse everyone. The oil companies are very generous to anyone with a degree or a dog in the fight that spreads the 'urban legends' of how climate change is some sort of huge conspiracy or hoax being put over on the world by all the scientists in the world,in order to make a buck off of grants,or to raise taxes. Then there is the snarky hatred of Al Gore. It just seems that since he was "cheated" out of the election by the Supreme Court,it's fair game to further slander and attack him. If he were to get the respect and credit for his efforts,then the whole issue of the stolen election would be in everyones mind. Al Gore donated all his Nobel Peace Prize winnings to charity.

Saving our tiny planet could be a good career for all humans to earn a living with.

He is also the chairman and founder of a place called Generation Investment Management , a company that invests in companies that are selling "green" products.  

everytime someone believes in global warming and goes "green" he makes money off them.

meanwhile he uses more energy than all the rest of us.

he has a house that uses more energy than a block of peoples houses combined.  

if he really believe in global warming would he be doing that?
