How are points awarded in Amateur boxing?

  1. when the white part of the glove connects with the part of the face that is not covered with the head protector or to the body. but they haven't call the body shots in the 08 Olympics idk why.


  2. They count the number of times the white part of the gloves hit the other fighter flush. Thats why Roy Jones lost in the Olympics, pitter pat punches score you points.

  3. when the white portion of the glove is hit flush on the opponents scoring area the judges press a button within 1 second of each other and that registers a point
