How are prints put onto T-shirts?

Question

Im doing business coursework and my fictional business idea is customiseable T shirts. I need to know how exactly pictures of bands or musicians etc, patterns or words etc. are put onto them?

ok well you could buy the patch cheap like walmart you put them in your printer and then print out the desing and iron them on the shirt i did this when i wanted cool looking tees

Iron-on transfers or screenprinting are the main methods. However, that idea in and of itself is overdone already. Try to incorporate more originality - cafepress already does that and so do a lot, lot of other companies.

It depends on the type of teeshirt...

there is silkscreening where an image si cut out, and them painted over

there is a newer comuterized methoud in which a fabric sticker is scanned, cut and attached

there is iron on transfering

then there is paint on fabric...

it all depends on the budget and the expected use
