  1. Both contain substances in pure form, i.e. neither have chemical bonds with other elements. Pure elements only have one type of atom in them, and no chemical bonds, mixtures are just an amalgamation of different atoms that are not bonded, so in a way mixtures and pure elements are similar as neither has chemical bonds with other substances.

  2. A pure substance is a single element.

A mixture is well, simply, a mixture of more than one element that can be separated.

  3. Actually there not. Pure substances are pure which means it only has one compound (such as H for hydrogen and O for oxygen). Mixtures on the other hand is made out of two or more substances (like Na for sodium and Cl for chloride makes NaCl Sodium Chloride or N for Nitrogen and 2 O for 2 oxygen which makes NO2 Nitrogen Dioxide). I tried to be as detailed as I could get being a freshman and all. But hope this helps you. Remember Mixture 2 or more Pure substances 1!

  4. are you in, like, grade 2? that's when we learn pure substances and mixtures in canada

  5. they are not alike. if anything a mixture contains pure substances.
