I have always wondered why rainbows come and why.

I just saw one (and took a couple pics with my phone) and it got me thinking of this question again.

So...How are rainbows made?

  1. It's light (sunlight), that has been broken by a prism (raindrops), that divides the light into the different colors that light is made of.  (The Color spectrum)

  2. I'm not sure, but when someone doesn't know the science behind it, they dont have to get nasty like the first person that answered the question did.

I see they withdraw their nasty comment.  Good.

  3. Your an idiot aren't you?! Rainbows come when it has just rained and the sun comes out. You can make a rainbow at home if you like. Just step to the yard turn the water on toward the sky. When the water is coming back down the sun hits it and forms a rainbow.  WOW! Magical right!
