How are relationships between the Hmong people and Black Americans?

Question

Don't answer this question if you don't know anything about the Hmong, please? I was just wondering how these types of relationships are viewed in the Hmong community because I'm a Black American and my girlfriend is Hmong, and her parents (very traditional from what I have learned) don't appreciate the fact that she is dating an American Black dude. Just want to know where this stems from. Thanks. ^-^

im married to a pretty hmong girl and i am east indian(and im on the dark side).  we also have a son too.  if i got it right black people and indian people are called the same thing in hmong... "kadoo."  i never heard of a black guy dating a hmong girl though but i have met some hmong girls who dated indian guys.  from what i know, the white man comes on top.  i am lucky though.  my wife's parents who don't speak any english like me alot even since day one.  other hmong parents and guys(and even some girls) can say whatever they wan't but i have many reasons why my wife is better with me than a hmong guy.  her parents are probaly just worried about what others have to say to them but if you have a good educational background, job, morales then it should be all good.  african americans kind of don't do well in thoose categories(im not being racially offensive i have nephews and neices who are half black and their the best).  so what i am basically saying, make yourself better than the top 5-10%  of the best hmong guys and you will have a point to say of why you an african american should be with a hmong girl.

I not Hmong but I am Asian, all I can say to you is that Asian parent don't like black because they see black as underachiever and a little bit too dark. I has dated black men and my parents did not approove it even once. I think it okay but then somtime black not like Asian as well. Much happiness to you and hmong girlfrind.

ive worked second shift in a plant in north carolima , and the second and third shift were primarely Hmong, They will test you to see if you have come to work or just pick up a pay check, no w, and it took a while but Id rather work with the Hmong im an older white dude and once they see your serious, they will do everything in thier power to see the job gets done and well done, However with the black there seems to be a problem, IM no raciest, but these guys just dissapear halfway through the shift, which doubles up the load on everyone else, if any thing is said they go to the black supervisor and the hmongs are gone the next day. you can thake it from there, I hate this damned place

I hope it works out for you two but you have taken on a world of trouble.  As the Asian answerer stated you are already behind stereotype issues.

If you can Win Friend and Influence People you might make headway.  If you get mad at them she may stay with you but she loses her parents, is it worth that?  Too many fish in the sea.
