Not sure if this will help you or not, but I love the show: John Ratzenbergers made in America.  Not too long ago they showed a rerun of the RedWing Shoe factory tour -

For academic purpose, you can buy a book on the subject from any business book store from Delhi.

For practical and visuals, you can go to Agra - 200 kms from Delhi - where a lot Shoe manufacturers have manufacturing set up. In Noida also, Woodland, Mescos, Phoenix, Lotus Bawa etc have manufacturing / assembling facilities. Liberty shoe factory is located on Delhi - Ambala Highway just before Karnal city, when going from Delhi. All these manufacturer may or may not allow you to visit their factories - you need to have permissions from them.

Grasp well and write a good project for your school assignment!
