How are the Crows going to beat the Hawks?

If the Bombers pushed them to within 5 points, 2 weeks ago at AAMI, and that was with Brett Burton missing set shots for them?

The Bombers pushed the Hawks in the first half last week, but could not maintain the intensity in the second, yet the Crows kept them in the game for the 4 quarters only a week before?

  1. so far everyone has only mentioned how the crows backline has to fire. but we are absolutley screwed unless we get some sort of spark up foward. last week it was luke jericho and scott thompson, but personally i don't see them getting those sort of goal totals again in their careers. a few weeks before it was jason porplyzia kicking 4 (?) in one quarter. so unless adelaide can kick 100 points on the back of some small forwards (brett burtons still out, kurt tippet is good but not reliable yet and ken mcgregor is past it) they will get demolished by a great and in form hawthorn side.

    should be a good game

  2. they are a REAL big chance of winning, provided they find someone to break the legs of Franklin, Roughead, Williams and Rioli

maybe also if they can get 22 players on the field

  3. probably put 3 defenders on lance franklin and then they might be a hope but then that leaves all of the other attackers from hawks unguarded...

i think they r stuck, no chance crows r gonna win.

  4. dont no soz

  5. I don't know how they're going to do it, but I hope they do.

  6. NO WAY..

    HOSEA !!!!

  7. I think it will definatly be one of the toughest, closest games this round.

Both teams play a similar style of football, except for the fact that the Hawks have two massive and strong forwards to look for.

Too close to call i reckon.

Definatly a game to watch. I'll be there thats for sure.

  8. Last 2 times it has been Franklin that sparked them and score the most goal for them.

So the back 6 for Adelaide has to be on song for the 4 quarters.

  9. I don't think they will, with the talls the hawks have in the forward line as well as the small crumbers it will be tough to stop them scoring, even though the Crows defence is good it will be a big task for them. Not to mention the inclusion of Dew and Hodge with a game under his belt after his hammy, think the hawks will get over the line

  10. by exploiting their arrogance....hawks're going to win the premiership you know....

    GO PIES!

  11. You have some very interesting thoughts there. I think that the Bombers had the wool on the Crows early because the Crows didn't rate them going into the game, which is a pretty foolish thing to do with any team no matter how strong or weak they are. I am thinking that perhaps the same thing happened in the Hawks game, the difference being that the Bombers do not manage to maintain the mental edge to stay in front like the top eight sides do. This might be because of the inexperience of many of their players. The Bombers also tend to go out too hard in the first half and run out of puff by the second.

If this game is at aami then i think that the Crows have a very good chance, because I can be certain that they will go into the game knowing that they have to really step up given the Hawks terrific form. However one thing that many fans do not take into consideration would be key match ups. Only on the day will you know if the Crows have a player smart enough and skilled enough to shut down the likes of a Buddy Franklin. This kind of match up might make all the difference between who wins or loses, and it has been this kind of thing in the past that has made the difference between a lower ladder team beating a top eight side.

  12. I don't think they will honestly....

I think the Crows have been lucky with the fixture and at one stage were playing good enough football to be in the top four but I don't think they will win...

If they are going to win they need to keep the Hawks centres to low possession and they need to go for contested footy rather ...

  13. I don't think the Crows will beat the Hawks but they might be able to if they do what the Doggies did.

    GO THE DOGGIES!

  14. well the crows will beat the hawks if neil craig decides to put Ben Rutten on Franklin, instead of Massie. and then Bock could go on Roughead, and Johncock on Williams. throw in McLeod in the backline, and i don't see them scoring too much.

last year in the finals, we lost to hawks by 5 points? something like that. and we had massie on franklin, and franklin kicked 7. rutten wouldn't let that happen

  15. I think the Crows will win....

  16. Yeah i think the Crows can beat the Hawks

  17. no way hawks by 80pts

  18. Simple answer:

    They're not.  End of story

  19. there not the hawks are too good for the showpony crows there only good player is mcloud, and they just suck

essendon did not stay in the game from the first bounce when i was there i could see that hawthorn would win

  20. By kidnapping Buddy Franklin and throwing him on a flight to Abu Dhabi!
