For instance how did they create a Apple Mint? or Pineapple mint? Or Chocolate mint?

Did they cross breed a mint plant with an apple plant?

  1. Mint is a highly variable group of plants with 25 species and hundreds of varieties. Each has many different aromatic compounds in the leaves. It so happens that some of these compounds taste like other fruit and imaginative people have named them peppermint, pineapple mint, etc. New flavors of mint are created by cross-breeding of various mint species - not by breeding with other types of plants.
