  1. Well, we won. The winners are called revolutionaries.  Everyone else is called a terrorist.

  2. well, no suicide bombings. And the biggest reason is that they were on our side.

also, there was also a rules of engagement followed. thats the main issue with al quada. they aren't a country. its like a club which is spread out in many nations. So  it makes fighting them difficult. All the might of the US means nothing when you fight  an enemy of spies and secret agents.

  3. Al Qaeda is fighting for a bad cause whereas the american revolutionaries were fighting for a good casue.

  4. they did not kill the innocent

  5. Well besides differences obviously from being different eras..

The american revolutionaries werent invaded. They were a part of the proper government who decided that they wanted to do something else.

Al Qaeda is fighting for a return to their old form of government, the Calyphate which is actually fairly democratic. And of course the withdrawal of nations like the US from their countries.

So Al Qaeda cannot be called revolutionaries.

  6. The American revolutionaries were fighting for secession from the British government, for liberty, freedom and the right to be generally left alone.  They did not brutally murder civilians, women and children.  They did not seek to conquer the world.

Al-Qaeda is fighting for theological totalitarianism.  They are openly hostile in their rhetoric to liberty and freedom.  They purposefully torture, murder and maim as many people as possible, whether civilian or defense.  They wish to establish a worldwide Islamic totalitarian empire.
