  1. I just applied for the Cougar Place at the main campus. It seems the nicest and if your upper class, you get to be in a room all by yourself.. but you share the restroom with the person next door. But it seems nice, and you can get housekeeping and everything for a small lovely fee

  2. The dorms at UH arent' that great. They all have their pros and cons.

The Towers are the place to be if you want to meet people since it houses the majority of the student body who are living on campus. I never lived their but I have been in the rooms and they are pretty small. I can't remember if the floors are coed or not but I know each floor has a community bathroom that everybody shares and you do get some nasty people who don't fluch toilets. The building had a musty smell to it.

The Quads I have never been there only to eat at the dinning hall but it seems like its like the Towers but more quiet and less hectic.

I wouldn't recommend Cougar Place. Yes you get your own room but you have to share a bathroom with your suite mate. The rooms are tiny, maybe a little bigger than your bedroom back home. The carpet is very thin and is very dirty with stains and the rooms smell like mildew or moist. I tried to get rid of the stink everytime I headed to class with air freshner but everytime I came back and walked in I could smell the midew. It might seem appealing to have your own room with privacy but you really don't. The maitenance people barge in unannounced and can take you by surprise. I had an embarrasing encounter with them and my girlfriend and it wasn't pretty. Cougar place doesn't have a dining hall so you have to walk all the way to the quads which is about 5 to 10 minute walk and you have to cross a street light.

Another thing annoying about living at Cougar place is that its right next to Roberston Stadium and when they have the Houston Dynamo games getting into the parking lot can be a really hassle. The people in charge of parking during those games give you a hard time if you try to park in your residential parking zone because they have the area sealed off and are charging people to park. I know they are doing their job but sometimes it seems they are trying to swindle for a quick buck. One time one guy wouldn't even let me in even after I showed him my UH RHE Parking permit.

All in all I don't think much about the towers or Cougar Place. Quads I have no idea since I never lived there. Right now I am commuting to school but might look into the 3 apartment complexes they have on campus next semester but I have read horror stories about them on http://www.apartmentratings.com/.

Just do a quick search of Bayou Oaks, Cullen Oaks, and Cambridge Oaks when you get to the web site and see what I mean. Hope I helped and Go Coogs!!!
