In USA or England, for top universities we don't use the word "university" to refer to a grad, such as Stanford Grad or Oxford Grad. Is it the same in China? Is the word "Alumni" more common than Grad? What are the well knwon abbreviations of top university names, such as MIT or UCLA here in America?

  1. In English you mean, or in their language?

In English you refer to it how you stated penind on which English you are using (UK, US).

I know Japanese, and Chinese uses the same characters which roughly equate to Big Study for undergrad and big study intitution for grad school. In common speaking I do not know what they call it. But english grad is fine.
