I have been reading and hearing about Mississippi's health problems from having the highest obesity rate to polluted drinking water. I wondered are these issues are being improved in the state and what the medicial services are like in some of the major cities, e.g. Jackson, MS ?

  1. Mississippi ranks near the bottom on almost every category, education, health care ... etc.  These issues have not been dealt with in the past and are not being dealt with now.

Think about it.  Take a state with poor tax revenues, with a population that is predominantly poorer than the national average and you end up with a government that ignores basic needs such as education and health care.

  2. Sorry to say, but Mississippi always seems to rank dead last of all the states in quality of life.

Health care is the worst in the country as is the quality of education and public services.

That's not the fault of MIssisspians, but the fault of their leaders blindly following Republican policies that just don't work.
