How are the inside non-ocean view rooms on the Carnival Cruise boat?

I'm taking my first cruise and I didn't really want to pay extra for an ocean view room. Can someone tell me how the inside room are?

They are fine.  They basically look like oceanview rooms with the windows closed, complete with curtains and everything to create the illusion.

Carnival's cabins are bigger than the standard cabins on most other lines.  Also, all of Carnival's standard cabins (category four through eight) are the same size - 185 sq ft.

So, your cabin is just like an ocean view cabin, except you have no window.  But for me to sit here and try to describe it would be a waste of time.  Instead I suggest you click on the links below and you'll see several photos of Carnival cabins ...

The rooms are small, but truthfully you will only be in your room for short periods of time, ie changing, sleeping, etc.  I would get the cheaper room and save your money for all the nice shore excursions or buy yourself a nice watch on the islands.  Thats what I did.

As someone who has been on a cruise or two and knows someone who worked in the industry for many years, I'll assure you that the only thing you'll be using your room for is to sleep, clean up, and to change clothes, much like you would a hotel room at Disneyland.  There's so much stuff to do on the ship that you are not going to miss an ocean view room.  If you really lfeel you want to look at the ocean, you can always walk up to the deck.  But again, there are so many fun and relaxing activities that you may not even find the time to do that much.  Take the inside room; you won't enjoy your journey any less...the company's recommendation that you take an ocean view is just a ploy to see if they can get more money out of you.

Try sleeping in your closet for a few nights,, If you can do that, you'll be fine!

The best prices that I have found overall are from  www.cruisequick.com.

HOWEVER they do not hold your hand. What I mean is that you need to know what cruise you want, what ship, date and category. You cannot call them, they do not answer a phone.

They are internet based only, completely legitimate, and offer a bonus or discount that most other agents don't offer.

They work on a flat fee profit and are completely automated.

They do answer emails promptly.

Their site explains how they work. I have used them for years, without any problems.  They offer free price quotes via email that include all port fees, taxes etc.

in side is the same as out side without a window...so bring a cheap night lite , or sleep with the TV on..bring a watch or clock as it's hard to tell time as the sun doesn't rise or set.I keep a watch by the bed..oh and use room service as your wake up call, nothing better than a cup of coffee and a danish when you wake up.

That's very sensible of you. You're not going to be spending much time in your cabin anyway, so why pay more? Inside rooms are the same as ocean view, they even have a fake port hole. The only difference is that they are dark as dark can be when you turn off the lights. So bring a digital alarm clock so you don't get disoriented if you wake up at night. Also, room service is included on Carnival so be sure to make use of that for your breakfast or have just some pre-breakfast coffee or juice delivered to your room as a wake up call.

You spend very little time in your room.  Just to shower, change clothes and sleep.

Don't spend the extra money on a balcony room unless you want to spend time alone.  The balcony only has room for two chairs.

The inside cabins are fine!

I think they are great.  I have been on two cruises with carnival and have loved them both.  I really didn't spend too much time in my room, so I really didn't miss the window.  Like you I didn't want to spend the extra money for the window (although I would have liked one).  But in the end, I really didn't miss it.  I think you will enjoy your trip either way.  Have a great time.  I'm planning on cruising next summer. You will be fine in the inside room, but I disagree with the people that don't recommend balconies.  It is great to have breakfast out there or watch the sail away from the comfort of your own room.  We do spend a bit more time in the room when we book balconies vs. when we book the inside or Ocean Views.  You will still have a great time!
