How are the irish people?

are firendly ?how are they behave with the foreigners?

I am asking that, because I think that Ireland its a beautiful and nice place, but I am foreign and I dont know how I will be received

I'm not Irish but the Irish I have met were great people. Enjoy in Ireland it's a lovely place. Don't hold back when it comes to drinking  :)

I don't believe they're fully up to speed with foreigners yet in Ireland. Lets face it they fight amongst themselves. They need time .

I work with a guy here in Madrid who is from Belfast. He is a brilliant laugh. The humour is very, very edgy and cynical but I love it. Nobody and nothing is safe from their humour. I have visited the South of Ireland many times and I find Ireland a lovely place with friendly people everywhere but I would go for the North part of Ireland everytime as the humour is next to none.

the irish are a brilliant laugh, they dont take themselves too seriously, a bit like us scots, both the northern and southern irsh enjoy a good bit o craic...why wouldnt they receive you well? i prefer northern ireland, i can use my own currency there lol

Ireland is divided within the country into two sides. They have internal political conflicts. However, they love tourists and love to have a good time. Avoid any political talk.

we're great!!!  lol, but seriously; majority are extremely open about 'foreigners' but there are some people...like in most countries, that are racist, its a problem all over the world so dont worry about it!

Im From Ireland (Meath)  It depends where you are from but certain parts of the world can be highly insulted and racist remarks could be used alot  Diffrent parts of the country treat foreigners diffrentely  If its a holiday you will be treated like royality but if you are moving in that is when we (irish)  feel threatned and racism beging It is mainly african and eastern european countres that are not liked and some asian countries

Being Irish myself, I have to say that we are generally quite friendly, to tourists anyway. We're always up for a bit of craic (fun) and as long as you can hold a few pints of Guinness there'll be no problem. Do try and avoid any talks of politics, it can get messy when there are arguments and such. If you have any trouble with sign posts and directions just ask any one passing and they'll happily help you aswell. Have fun on your trip

Im a 25 year old man from ireland living in dublin. Irealnd is a nice place and a great place to travel, and the media likes to exagerate this. People are more friendly when you get outside the big cities. People like to think that Ireland is very safe and cheerful, and indeed this is largely true, however, places like dublin have the same problems that every city in the world experiences, drug addicts, muggings, and people kicking the **** out of each other on friday and saturday nights(which is common the lenght and breath of the country).

I have travelled a fair bit, and everyone says the Irish are nice people, however i have noticed that more and more people are saying that we are very racist. Indeed this is probably true as we have pretty much had the island to oursleves for centuries (bar those pesky english), the nation has seen dramtic influx in non nationals living in the country in the last 15/10 years or so, this due to Ireands economy performing exceptionally well and the quality of life that living and working in Ireland can provide. These can only be seen as teething problems in a country that is quickly and dramaticlly becoming increasingly diverse.

However, it should be stressed that Irish are generally friendly and if you are travellin out in the country side you may be surprised how friendly the people are, one south korean girl i know who travelled around Ireland told me that when she was out in kerry , a copule of people insisted she come along for a cup of tea and cake, she couldnt get over it!

Advice intravlling around Ireland, bring loadsa cash, its expensive, limit ur self in stayin in cities, if u want to experience the real Ireland stay out of the cities, {bar galway, which is my favourite place in the country} and be prepared to to be drink loads of booze.

There are alot of foreigners living in Ireland now because alot of countries have joined the E U . My partner is foreign and alot of the people I work with are foreign, so its not a big deal! every where you go in Ireland there are people of different nationality!! we are well used to it!!  Ireland is beautiful!! you should nt let your nationality stand in your way !!

I'm IRISH i can tell you we are nice, love tourists,the politics is an issue as we could go on for 24 hours (with all the catholic & prodistant stuff). the weather is not great at the moment but is said to get betyter next month. I woul recomend you visit dublin & in kildare(beside dublin) is good there is a town there called leixlip which is the origanal brewary of guinisses beer its got good tourist stuff there and every july there is a festival held there lots of tourists come to it and they all seem to have a good time.
