The road is extremely good. You can always maintain a speed of 100. I think it would be better if you go to Kanyakumari via Thiruvananthapuram from Bangalore. That would even be longer drive to enjoy. In between you can also visit OOTY. But be very careful about the "highway robbers" in Tamilnadu. They don't go for cash, they will go for the water you are carrying, since you are from Karnataka.

To kanyakumari all roads are not nice. It won't be like our best Karnataka

roads are good, try using google maps and use highways to the most. when u enter interiors, roads are not that motorable.
