How are the waves in Florida?

Question

My grandad wants me to come to Florida to visit, and to teach me how to surf. So tell me, are the waves a good as he says, or is he just telling tall-tales?

Depends on  the location.  I'm in Florida, and the waves around Daytona arn't good... But it also depends on the weather too.  They can have 5-6 ft. waves pretty easy.
