  1. They get in because they are very small and can get through a screen on a window.  But spiders have many benefits.  Keep a few spiders around and they eat other insects.  Plus you get free web-hosting and design.  Just think, you could have all the websites you wanted with free maintenance.  :cD

  2. The easiest way to prevent them from visiting for long is to spray some long-lasting pesticide outside of each outer door to your house, on the concrete or other sill. Some sprays will remain active for many weeks and if the bug crawl thru it to get under your door, they're usually not in good health for long.

To get rid of them, try one of the electronic fly swatters they have now, they work great for flying insects but if you hold it near the spider and it jumps, it will hit the grid and end your problem. I know spiders are good for removing other pests, but for me, it's them or me. I prefer me so if they try to live in my house rent-free, they learn squatters have few rights.

  3. Through the tiniest of holes in your walls, floorboards, window and door frames.

Also check your overflow and waste pipes on baths and sinks etc.

Keeping a clean house helps...i think..as they're after food (insects) and clean house means waste of their time.

Spiders can be brushed up into a pan and thrown out the door and window, when you can both get on with your independent lives.

  4. Why keep them out unless they are one of the few poisonous species?

    They eat flies, mosquitos, etc.

Why would they want to be in your bed?  You are to big for them to eat!!

(I had several that lived in a place I rented once, and they stayed up in the corners of the beams, etc.  As a result, I did NOT need any bug spray for flying insects!)

  5. spiders are very small and can gain entry under a door, through windows that have poor fitting screens, some even say they can gain entry through floor drains. They are door yard pests and will get into a house for the sake of getting into a house.Avoid extreme pesticide use more harm than good try placing out a few sticky glue pads around were you see them
