How are things recycled?

Like how the heck would a soda can turn into a string. They try to encourage us to recycle but never tell the process, pls tell me

  1. Well you are basically taking a broken or trashed piece of equipment. Then taking apart into the basic components or elements and proceed to reshape(for metals/plastic)  the reform the object (glass/paper). So over all it's just reconverting a piece of material, that's all that's to it. No big question if you use basic knowledge of things.


  2. you cannot change the properties of the material ie aluminium to cotton

    aluminium pop cans get melted down and made into aluminium ingots and made into new aluminium products

    newspaper gets ground up into a slurry and added into new paper slurry and remade into newsprint

    glass in broken and crushed into fine pellets and added to molten glass to make new glass containers

    plastics 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 are separated shredded and re added to the mix of the same type of plastic they are some can be spun into a thread like material (polyester)and woven to make anything from Tee shirts to fibre insulation in sleeping bags

    there are lots of web sites you can google that will give you more indepth info and procedures
