How are tissues/ napkins/ toilet paper made?

From what trees are they derived and what process is used to make them? Is it similar to making regular paper?

I seem to recall that pine trees are used a lot, along with recycled office paper. It is similar to making regular paper, which I think gets several more compression steps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toilet_pape...
