  2. Can you say "dying?"

    Not just from being cut down.  Road salt gets to them, there are heavy metals that get into them from rain, from run-off, global warming is taking a toll, the light is dimming owing to polluted air, and making stands of trees sparse, not thick, exposes trees to the elements and stresses them, so they are more prone to disease and bugs, which are more numerous owing to global warming, and speaking of bugs, all our traveling around and our shipping stuff from country to country introduces new bugs to attack them......

  4. Houston Texas is a growing large city.  New developments going in North of the city all the time.  Most of this area is wooded.  Because houses go in so close to each other, all the trees are bulldozed and burned.  

    So, we are losing trees to human activity.
