how are ADH (vasopression) and Aldosterone similar?

  1. They increase blood pressure by causing reabsorption of water in the distal portion of the kidney. However the mechanism by which they do this is very different.

    Aldosterone increases reabsorption of sodium which then increases reabsorption of water.

    ADH causes pores to be inserted into the collecting duct which directly increases reabsorption of water.
