Does anyone know how a college pays out veterans benefits?? I have received approval for so many months of ch.35 benefits, and I looked at my status of financial aid on the school's website..and it shows that the money is there..but is the remainder paid out after they have subtracted all the student fees, tuition, books..etcetera?? Anyway..I was just wondering cause I am depending on the 'extra' to purchase supplies, laptop, and other things needed for school!!

  1. Well, I receive my G.I. Bill every month that I am in school. They used to direct deposit about $1100 a month into my account for every month I was in school as a full-time student. The first of this month they bumped it to $1300 a month. Next year we are going to be flying high because starting August 1, 2009 we will receive complete reimbursement of tuition, $1400 dollars a month for housing, and $1000 a year for books and supplies. If you have any questions I will help if I can.

Of course, I actually earned my benefits. I am not just a survivor or dependent so it might be different.
