How are white hairs formed/come about?

Every human has a finite amount of natural color under their skin. When it becomes used up, the hairs become white. There is no way to prevent this from happening, it's completely genetic.

Hair dye does wonders, however =)

White hair developes when the hair stops producing melanin which is what colours our skin and hair.
