  1. see thia website

  2. I'm not.   I'm saving money and my health by eating locally grown foods and walking/biking wherever I can.

  3. Instead of turning up your central heating, put a jumper on.

Grow your own fruit and veg.

Plant a tree in your back yard.

    Recycle

    Bike to work

    By produce closer to home

Dry your clothes on a washing line.

Don't put the computer or tv on standby.

    Use a compost bin

    Turn lights off whenever possible.

If we all did at least 3 off these suggestions it would make a huge difference. And to the person who said global warming is a lie, the evidence hugely out weights your idea. for example "International scientific consensus agrees that increasing levels of man-made greenhouse gases are leading to global climate change. Possible consequences of climate change include rising temperatures, changing sea levels, and impacts on global weather. These changes could have serious impacts on the world's organisms and on the lives of millions of people, especially those living in areas vulnerable to extreme natural conditions such as flooding and drought."

  4. First of, simply turning off the faucet can help a lot.Taking a bike to work or simply walking will not be only healthy but also economical.Because of rising gas prices, i think bikes would help a lot.And of course proper disposal of trash can really help a lot.Segregating, recycling and compost piles are ways of disposing of your garbage. As my science teacher says, "Don't teach you trash to swim!"..Cheers!;)

  5. walk or ride a bike or even a hybrid

grow a fruit and veggie garden

    recycle

cut down on meat especially red

cut down on dairy or get local dairy

OR you could be a vegetarian its actually not hard with meat substitutes and such (-:

  6. I like to where to "Go Green!" Shirts and the bags with "Recycle" on them so other people can also become aware.

  7. We can not affect the sun (the true cause of this warming trend), the planet is not in danger, and those in power know this.  I'm not buying this ruse designed to steal my money and my rights as a US citizen.

  8. Eat locally and eat less red meat and dairy.  Eat locally raised chicken, fish, eggs, or veggies instead.

Cows produce a ton of methane and eat a ton of grain.  Simply reducing the amount of red meat and dairy can have a significant impact on reducing the amount you contribute to climate change -- and it's easy to do!

  9. We should stop using styros because burning them releases harmful gasses to the atmosphere. Try to use paper plates when eating out or use plates instead of reusable plates and utensils. At least if you're using paper, recycling it lessens the emission of pollutants. If you're using styros, recycling, burning or making it is bad for the environment.

  10. I'm working on saving my planet from political fanaticism.  Which is why I maintain and argue for a healthy skepticism of rash ideas and rash people.

I do like your idea of planting trees.  Having worked on a tree farm, I have planted a lot of them.  Planting in urban areas is really good.  Cools the city and makes it a nicer place to live.

For everyone who wants to help with the environment.  I recommend picking up trash.  Trash is a hazard to wildlife and to ground water supplies.  It's easy, a few friends, box of trash bags and an afternoon.  One of my favorite things is to rent a canoe and troll a river picking up all the c**p I find.

I like the trash pickup idea, because it easy to do and it involves actually rolling up ones own sleeves, as opposed to most of the non-work that passes for environmentalism.  Since it requires actual personal sacrifice it's the acid test to see how committed people really are.

Most of all, don't give in to the one issue all or nothing fanaticism of many environmentalists.  The world has lots of problems and solving them is a balancing act.  We aren't modifying nature because we are evil, we are modifying it because it is harsh and unforgiving.  Nature doesn't actually care about us, it's primary interest is in recycling us as part of the food chain.  Civilization is our defense.  Even then, nature takes us all in the end.
