How av recivers diffrent from others?

All receivers are the heart and control system of your home theater.

The difference in an AV receiver is that it controls BOTH audio and visual.

An audio receiver just does audio.

Receivers differ in differnt ways too.

1. Company: If you have a personal preference.

2. Number of speakers channels supported.

( 7.1 channel = 7 speakers)

3. Watts per speaker: The more watts per speaker the more powerful the sound. (250w x 7 = 250 watts per 7 speakers).

4. Max Resolution: You may have a high definition tv but if your receiver does not support HD then you will not get hd.

5. Inputs: The key to a receiver is inputs. The more inputs the better. If u require hdmi make sure your receiver has as many hdmi's as u need.
