How awkward would this look?

Question

I want to give my bedroom a makeover. My bedroom set is light oak and I have always stayed with the neutral colors or the earth tones for bedding and accessories because of the furniture. I want to do black and white. The main color would be white with black accents and black and white pictures or art on the wall. My question is would it be ok to mix like that? I have always been a firm believer to don't mix black and white however I have so much wood in my living room and kitchen I have majority black furniture and it looks great but that is a more open area.

Oh and the walls are a light toupe color.

You could bring in the wood tome with wood candle holders or pillows; also also that will give them room a more warm look than just using the black and white.  I think it would be pretty!!!

Black and white with light oak?  I'm not getting a pretty visual at all.  You should post some pictures of your bedroom suit and I'd tell ya.

try adding some burgandy ..accessories .like scatter cushions  and a picture with all the colurs of your room on the wall that faces you as you walk in.
