How bad are contact lenses for you?

it seems controversial. can you get sick from them? expose me to the risks.

I have been wearing contacts for about 20 years.  The contacts I had when I was younger had few problems but now with all the new contacts they are great.  Sometimes they get a little dry like in hot weather but other than that no problems what so ever.

As long as you wash your hands before touching your eye or contacts you won't have any problems. Also be sure to follow the manufacturers instructions as far as taking them out and cleaning them. Once I left my contacts in for like two weeks straight and slept with them in and ended up getting a corneal ulcer. That was like 5 years ago and I haven't had any problems since then.

Well, I've been wearing contact lenses for about a year. Although I have some minor complications, such as overdrying or itching, I've never had a serious problem from wearing them. The most important thing is to take good care of your lenses. Wash your hands before putting on the lenses and make sure they are cleaned with good solution every time you use them.
