How bad did the Brickyard just *suck*?

And what do you think could/should be done so this race, which is normally a pretty good one, isn't loused up like this again?

I'm blaming the COT and Goodyear, myself. There should've been way more testing. But I'd like to hear other theories.

  1. The race sucked and I feel for the fans that actually attended the race.  We watched for free on TV.  They had to pay for such an inferior show!  Those tickets, lodging and gas prices are not cheap.  Then you go and sit for hours to watch several "heat" races.  I don't think it was as much Goodyear as it is the new car.  They brought the same tire as last year and last years race was pretty decent.  But it isn't like NASCAR didn't suspect this might happen and yet nothing was done to make it better.  I am such a NASCAR junkie that if this was any other sport I just wouldn't watch but alas, I must have my NASCAR fix although today it was in much smaller doses.  The best thing I can say about today's race is Kyle Busch didn't win it.

  2. The tire was the problem. They cut the track with diamond groves in it so the indy cars can grip better.A harder compound should have been used even if the cars would have slid more in the corners.

  3. This race was really bad, WHY GOODYEAR WHY???????

    Go Dale Jr.!!!

    JUNIOR NATION!!!

  4. i blame nascar for not having tested on this track.. i mean 11 laps and chage tires...

  5. It was all Good Year's fault, they can't make a tire worth a sh*t!

  6. I called it in the beginning of the year that this would be the toughest track for the COT. I don't expect a repeat performance next year.

  7. I blame NASCAR actually.  They're the ones who control testing.  Goodyear doesn't control it and can't know what's going to happen until they see how the cars respond.  NASCAR should've called for a test session for this track, seeing as how much different it is from every other track from what everyone's saying.

  8. I liked it. But then again I like all types of racing. Especially motorsports type of racing.

  9. They could have run it at night and lost power that is the only way this race stinks more.

This race generally sucks these cars don't run well at a track for Indy cars and most of the finishes show it . What the brain trust at NASCAR were thinking when they did not test at INDY is beyond me. They use the George W Bush method of working out changes on the new car to make it more drive-able.

I'd like to see the IRL take a swing through Daytona of better yet Talladega. See how they like WFO racing (bet their tires can't take the speed)

  10. Worst Brickyard I have ever seen. I hate to say it. I really do. But it was a total suck race.

  11. I blame NASCAR.  The buck stops there.

  12. one of the most boring joyrides i have ever seen,  to h**l with the competition yellows.  let the teams make there money and pit when they think the have to.  there would have been less cars on the lead lap but the pit strategies would have been interesting to watch at least, not the whole field coming when told to

  13. a vegetarian up top is blaming nascar- thats funny

    it was goodyears mess

  14. During practice they checked the tires on all cars. They must have known there was a problem because Goodyear few in 300 tires. Would have been nice if they would have let the teams use them.

Next question: Why not use more than one tire maker..

  15. It was gorrible, hopefully we wont have antoher like that EVER! :P We need better tires next time too!! What was up with the tires? psh!
